What are the benefits of a tree guard cabling system?
Number 1, no drilling of holes that could damage the tree. Number 2, the dynamic material in the system reacts to real-world stress. This is a 4,000 lb system in this Aseculus hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut). The slings also have very easy to see orange overload indicators. These cabling systems offer extra protection for your trees from structural failure especially in an extreme wind, snow, or ice storm. Dont be fooled into thinking rope is weak, the cabling ropes we install have a 4,000lbs to 18,000lbs breaking strength. We also offer traditional extra-high-strength 3/8-in cable (15,400lbs breaking strength), this does require drilling. Not all trees can be cabled. All tree cabling systems either, wire cable or rope should be inspect every year. Ideally trees should be cabled in the spring or summer time.
